Snow Day Equals Banana Bread

It snowed last night and even though it didn't drop nearly as much snow as Snowmagedan last year, it was still enough to give me a snow day today! Lucy, our dog, looooves the snow. So I got all bundled up this morning to go out and play in the snow with Lucy and Mr. G.

Unfortunately on top of the 6-8 inches of snow was a thin layer of ice which did not allow for much playing in the snow. So we said goodbye to Mr. G (who did have to go to work), took a couple laps around the block and then headed back inside.


At this point I probably should have gotten right to work since even though I did have a snow day, I was still expected to work from home. But there is something about snow and being cooped up in the house that makes me feel like I have to bake.

After work yesterday I picked up Mr. G and we headed to a happy hour with some of his coworkers. Mr. G was planning on helping his brother move some stuff from West Virginia today so his brother was heading to our place last night. We came up with the genius idea to just have Brother G come pick us up from happy hour so that we didn't have to worry about driving.

Well a number of drinks and at least one "gummy bear" shot later we were headed home. Let's just say I was feeling pretty good at this point. And I decided that I wanted to make brownies. From scratch. No big deal, you don't need to be sober to do that, or so I thought.

And it begins...

I decided to start a blog. You know, since I don't spend enough time on the computer as it is. I am hoping that this will help me keep people updated with my life as I navigate through the experiences that come wth being a newlywed.

I don't know what form this will take, my favorite blogs to read are mostly food blogs but I don't think this will be an exclusively food blog. I do plan on doing a decent number of posts on my latest baking or cooking adventure. I also do not have the photography skills that are required to be a really good food blogger, although Mr. G does have a pretty snazzy camera that I plan on learning how to use. 

I plan on keeping this blog semi-anonymous. Even though the only people reading most likely know me personally. I am writing under the name Mrs. G and any references to people will be nicknames.
